Job summary

Cape Cod Community College is seeking a Coordinator of Student Engagement to develop and assess comprehensive programs that foster student connection, belonging, leadership development, and success across multiple campuses.

Work with Wellness and Engagement partners to create an integrated calendar of activities, support student clubs and SGA, and promote inclusive engagement for a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Six (6) years of professional experience in student engagement, student activities, student affairs, leadership development, orientation, student organizations, program coordination, community engagement, or a related area.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and assessing programs, events, or initiatives that promote student engagement, connection, leadership, or belonging.
• Experience advising, mentoring, or supporting students, student organizations, student leaders, or similar populations.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel between College locations and to off-campus student activities as required.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive program of student engagement initiatives that strengthen student connection, belonging, leadership development, persistence, and success.
• Collaborate closely with staff responsible for wellness promotion, recreation and fitness, essential needs, and other areas within Student Wellness and Engagement to develop and coordinate an integrated calendar of programs, events, and initiatives that promote student connection, well-being, belonging, and engagement while maximizing opportunities for collaboration and reducing duplication.
• Coordinate, in collaboration with departmental and College partners, a comprehensive year-round calendar of student engagement opportunities, including Welcome Week, campus traditions, social and cultural programs, community-building activities, student recognition, and other co-curricular experiences.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to student clubs and organizations, including in organizational development, event planning, College policies and procedures, fiscal practices, and the development of student leaders.
• Serve as co-advisor to the Student Government Association and support SGA elections, governance, budget processes, student advocacy, and meaningful student participation in College decision-making.
• Develop and facilitate inclusive student leadership opportunities that help students build leadership, communication, collaboration, civic engagement, and cross-cultural competencies.
• Support new student transition and engagement initiatives, including orientation and Welcome Week, in collaboration with Admissions, Advising, Academic Affairs, and other College partners.
• Develop inclusive engagement strategies designed to reach the College's diverse student population, including students who may be less likely to participate in traditional campus activities or who attend programs at other College locations and instructional sites.
• Collaborate with campus partners and student organizations to develop heritage and cultural celebrations, educational programs, and community-building activities that promote cultural awareness, celebrate the diversity of the College community, and strengthen students' sense of belonging and connection to the College.
• Coordinate opportunities for community service, volunteerism, civic engagement, and other experiences that connect students with the College and broader community.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and mentor student employees, student leaders, and other assigned personnel supporting engagement programs and activities.
• Develop and coordinate student engagement communications, including promotional materials, event calendars, newsletters, digital communications, and other outreach efforts designed to increase awareness of and participation in student engagement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications and other College partners to develop effective outreach and communication strategies that increase awareness of and participation in student engagement opportunities.
• Utilize participation data, student feedback, assessment findings, and institutional information to evaluate programs, identify gaps and barriers to participation, establish annual goals, and support continuous improvement.
• Assist the Director with budget development and management, departmental planning, assessment activities, policy and procedure development, strategic initiatives, and operational projects that advance Student Wellness and Engagement goals.
• Coordinate, and when necessary provide transportation for students participating in College-sponsored off-campus activities and events, as appropriate.
