Job summary

Howard University School of Law is seeking an Accommodations Coordinator to support the Director of Student Affairs and the broader Student Accessibility team in implementing disability accommodations. You will manage a student caseload, coordinate testing room reservations, review documentation, and monitor approvals while maintaining sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and three years’ experience in law-related field, higher education administration or other student programs; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Evidence of experience developing and executing innovative and high-quality programming.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and manage a budget and resources. Ability to establish priorities and deadlines while delivering quality customer service.
• Ability to exercise leadership skills, delegate tasks and promote, manage and provide training.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with students, faculty, staff, University officials and the general public.
• Must be willing to participate in minimal travel and, when necessary, work a flexible schedule (evening and weekend events are sometimes necessary).

Responsibilities

• Manage a student caseload, including consultation with individual prospective and current students to assess eligibility for academic accommodations, review documentation, determine reasonable accommodations, and implement them.
• Advise and support students on the ADA accommodations process through the Office of Student Accessibility.
• Manage outreach and information resources related to in-class accommodations and the accommodation request process.
• Monitor and track all accommodation approvals, generating follow-up communications to students, faculty, and staff.
• Operate and maintain information systems to track and report on accommodation workflows.
• Coordinate testing room reservations for midterm and final exams, managing a centralized testing center during high-volume periods.
• Perform data analysis and troubleshoot data integrity issues related to accommodation processes and ABA Standards compliance.
• Coordinate with the Director and department heads on student issues; support Office of Student Affairs and take on other assignments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
