Job summary

Georgetown University seeks an Accessibility Coordinator to support undergraduate, graduate, and medical students by interpreting evaluations to determine reasonable accommodations under the ADA and Section 504, and by guiding students through an interactive process. The Coordinator advocates for students with disabilities and collaborates with faculty to ensure accommodations align with curricular goals.

The role reports to the Associate Director of the Academic Resource Center, is on-campus,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Social Work, Higher Education/Student Personnel Administration.
• 3–5 years of experience working with students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret psychological evaluations and other documentation to determine reasonable accommodations under ADA and Section 504.
• Engage students in an interactive process to determine accommodations.
• Advocate for students with disabilities and aid in implementing accommodations.
• Respond to inquiries from faculty to ensure accommodations do not compromise curricular goals.
• Stay current with disability issues and legal ramifications affecting university processes.
