Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking skilled welders to lay out, align, and weld fabricated components into structural forms such as frames, tanks, pressure vessels, and piping systems in a full-time role in Louisiana. You will read blueprints, select welding processes, and assemble parts in multiple positions, maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include layout planning, welding with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, and SMAW, and ensuring weld integrity per procedure.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and metallurgy specifications.
• Apply basic mathematics to plan work and layouts.
• Demonstrate precision in welding and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials per specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly and welding using knowledge of metal properties and welding techniques.
• Welds components in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Connects cables to welding unit and adjusts amperage, voltage and pulse as required.
• Inspects welds for bead size and conformity to specs.
• Ensures safety and housekeeping; participates in maintenance of tools and equipment.
