Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Missouri is seeking a skilled welder to lay out, align and weld fabricated components according to blueprints and metallurgy. The role covers structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks and pipe in industrial settings.

You will use various welding processes, read plans, ensure proper fit-up and safety practices, and work under supervision to meet project specifications.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent, with related field experience.
• Familiar with concepts, practices and procedures in welding.
• Works under supervision and follows instructions and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, align and weld components according to blueprints and metallurgy.
• Selects type and size of pipe or materials per specifications.
• Plan layouts, assembly and welding with knowledge of welding techniques.
• Weld in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
• Connects cables and adjusts amperage/voltage as required by procedure.
• Start power supply to produce current and strike arc for welding.
• Inspect welds for bead size and alignment.
• Load, transport and unload materials and tools.
• Assist in lifting, positioning and securing pieces during installation.
• Perform routine maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment.
