Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in Baytown, TX is seeking a skilled welder to lay out, align and weld fabricated components into structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks and pipes, following blueprints and metallurgy. You will work with arc welding processes and maintain strict accuracy in all joints.

The role requires planning work, selecting appropriate tools, performing measurements, and adhering to safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Familiar with standard procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to follow instructions under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, align and weld fabricated components to form structures per blueprints.
• Select materials and plan layouts and welding techniques.
• Operate various welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW, SMAW) as required.
• Position and weld parts in multiple orientations.
• Inspect welds and prepare parts for assembly.
• Assist in maintenance and cleaning of tools.
