Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a highly motivated Structural Technical Intern to join our Pittsburgh, PA office for the 2027 internship period. This paid full‑time internship runs May through August 2027 with potential to transition into a Full-Time Junior Engineer role after graduation.

You will work under project managers and team leaders, with support from engineering staff, while gaining hands‑on experience in civil/structural tasks and software tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Associate's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, ready to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary
