Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Structural Technical Intern (STEM) to join the Columbus, OH engineering team for the 2027 internship period. This is a paid full-time position with anticipated duration from May through August 2027 (flexible) and has the potential to transition into a Full-Time Junior Engineer Role upon graduation.

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders with partnerships with other engineering staff.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary
