Job summary

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Structural Technical Intern to join the engineering team in our Pittsburgh, PA office for the 2027 internship period.

This paid full-time internship runs May through August 2027, with the potential to transition into a Full-Time Junior Engineer role after graduation. The successful candidate will work under supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders with partnerships with other staff.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, MathCAD, Bentley MicroStation) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary
