Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Structural Technical Intern for the Charleston, SC office for the 2027 internship period. This paid full-time internship runs May through August 2027 (flexible) with potential to transition into a Junior Engineer role after graduation.

The intern will work under Project Managers and Team Leaders, assisting with reports, plans, specifications, data management, and field support while gaining mentorship from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Self-motivated, detail oriented person.

Responsibilities

• Support project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties as necessary
