Job summary

Benesch seeks a Structural Designer to join our growing Structural team. You will work on structural design projects with state and local transportation agencies, performing engineering models, analysis, and supporting calculations, and coordinating drafting for various clients.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply! The role is located in one of multiple Kansas offices (Kansas City, Manhattan, Wichita, or Topeka).

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.
Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
The position may include the need to perform Field Inspection and may require travel to project sites.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - emails, project memos, reports, etc.)
Detailed, and organized individual who thrives in environments that are deadline driven.

Responsibilities

Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
Draw design details under direction of Project Managers.
Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
Coordinate drafting of an element.
Perform field or site visits as needed.
Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
