Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company seeks a Structural Designer to join the Kansas-based structural group on transportation projects. You will perform engineering models, analyses, and designs, coordinate drafting with project teams, and support calculations and documentation for clients.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The role may involve field inspections, travel to project sites, and collaboration across multiple offices. A BS in civil engineering is required, with E.I.T preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
• Draw design details under direction of Project Managers.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
• Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of an element.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
