Benesch in Kansas is seeking a Structural Bridge Designer to join our growing Structural team. You will perform engineering models, analysis and designs, and coordinate drafting for transportation projects with state and local agencies. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

The position is located in Kansas City, KS, Manhattan, KS, Wichita, KS, or Topeka, KS offices, with opportunities to contribute to diverse projects and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E.) preferred.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
• Draw design details under direction of Project Managers.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
• Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of an element.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
