Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Structural Designer to join our growing Structural team in Kansas offices. In this role you will work on structural design projects with state and local transportation agencies, performing engineering models, analysis, and designs, and coordinating drafting of project elements with project managers.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Travel to project sites may be required, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment is essential

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• E.I.T (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks. The position may include field inspection and may require travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
• Draw design details under direction of Project Managers.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
• Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of an element.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
