Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Account Director, Utility to lead and grow a strategic utility relationship in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

You will coordinate resources across business units, engaging utility executives, operators, and technical teams to deliver value across the customer lifecycle. This role combines strategic account management, commercial leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to shape account strategies, negotiate complex deals, and drive grid modernization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in enterprise sales or account management.
• Experience in customer-facing sales, preferably within energy industry.
• Ability to navigate a matrixed organization and large teams.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall relationship with a strategic utility account and serve as the primary customer contact.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customer stakeholders, including senior executives.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans that align customer priorities with available solutions and services.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to support customer initiatives and business growth opportunities.
• Identify, prioritize, and advance opportunities that increase customer value and account growth.
• Facilitate complex commercial discussions and negotiations with customer organizations.
• Monitor customer satisfaction, address significant issues, and support timely resolution of concerns.
• Maintain awareness of customer strategies, industry trends, market developments, and emerging business needs.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
