Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Transmission Planning Project Manager to oversee all phases from BD through execution. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, develop scope and fee structures, ensure quality deliverables, and maintain strong client relationships.

You will also mentor junior staff, lead risk assessments, and apply best practices in transmission planning using tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP and Promod.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, plus professional experience.
• 5 years of related professional experience.
• Knowledge in project management techniques and procedures.
• Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Experience leading technical consulting engagements in power systems.
• Experience with client operations or program management in critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects from business development through execution.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams and client relationships, including scope, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Mentor junior staff and champion technical excellence.
• Lead risk assessment and coordinate technical studies using industry best practices.
• Present project status, risks, and costs to stakeholders and executive leadership.
