Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking a Transmission Planning Project Manager to lead end-to-end planning studies and client engagements across North America as part of Burns & McDonnell.

You will manage scope, schedule, and budgets while mentoring engineers and analysts on complex power systems projects. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, apply regulatory standards, and leverage tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP and Promod to deliver high-quality results for utility and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of professional experience.
• Knowledge in project management techniques, and procedures.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Experience leading consulting engagements in power systems, distribution planning, and grid modernization.
• Experience with client operations or program management in critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of transmission planning projects from business development through execution.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, scope, budgeting, and scheduling; maintain client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and promote technical excellence within the team.
• Lead technical studies (steady-state, stability, short circuit, voltage, production costing) and apply standards (NERC, FERC).
• Coordinate contract development, risk assessment, and project status reporting to stakeholders.
