Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. seeks an experienced administrator to lead surgical scheduling. Under the Practice Administrator, you will manage scheduling operations, coordinate with OR, pre-test, and other stakeholders, and ensure a quality-based, patient-centered flow of work.

You will onboard and train scheduling staff, maintain case-volume statistics, handle prior authorizations, referrals, and testing, and collaborate across departments to optimize access and service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3–5 years in a busy medical practice.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
• Strong customer service and ability to multitask.
• Working knowledge of insurance regulations; CPT/ICD9 coding helpful.
• Effective communication with patients, physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and reviews surgical schedules to ensure proper bookings.
• Schedules patient surgical and procedure appointments and informs patients of preparations.
• Coordinates follow up/post op care for patients as ordered by physician.
• Onboards and trains new surgical scheduling staff.
• Maintains monthly statistics on case volume and collaborates with Pre-Admission review.
