Qualifications

• 5+ years of scheduling experience (preferably surgical scheduling) or closely related healthcare administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all OR surgeries and procedures.
• Monitor front office workflow and adjust for optimal service delivery.
• Verify patient demographics and obtain pre-certification from insurance carriers for all OR surgeries.
• Obtain patient medical clearance.
• Resolve patient issues and answer policy-related questions.
• Place surgical confirmation calls one day before surgery.
• Schedule post-op follow-up visits with providers.
• Communicate with referring physicians and surgeons for scheduling and data exchange.
• Train and mentor junior staff in surgical scheduling.
• Distribute and collect paperwork to coordinate surgeries.
• Record hospital reservations and pre-admit data in CERNER.
• Input surgical information in EPIC.
• Coordinate surgeries across multiple institutions with varying requirements.
• Coordinate with surgeons and departments for co-surgical cases.
