Job summary

ABB Inc. in the United States seeks a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for data centers and critical facilities.

This remote role collaborates with SAMs to drive ITO activities and maximize profitability. The candidate will leverage ABB's portfolio to design innovative solutions, assess risk, and coordinate deal strategy across cross-functional teams, travel limited to 2–3 times per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical distribution or related industry; 5+ years of Sales and project quotations experience.
• Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio and configuration tools (ABB empower).
• Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects.
• Travel up to 2-3 times a year.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the Strategic Account Sales Managers (SAMs) and Strategic Customers to understand the Critical to Quality (CTQ) factors essential for growth.
• Organizing and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Contributing to the development of innovative solutions by leveraging ABB Electrification's portfolio; suggest alternatives to reduce costs and increase profitability.
• Evaluating project risk triggers (financial, commercial, technical) and coordinating with leadership and risk manager as needed.
