Job summary

Lusternational seeks a seasoned Risk Manager to support high-value heavy-civil infrastructure programs, including highways, bridges, and transit. You will manage risk registers, quantify cost and schedule exposure, and set contingency positions for funding agencies and boards.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in risk management on large-scale projects, with proficiency in CPM scheduling, Monte Carlo analyses, and industry-standard tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of risk management experience for large, complex heavy-civil projects.
• Experience running quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis and deriving contingencies.
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling and cost forecasting to test exposure in the risk register.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the program’s risk management plan, process, and governance.
• Facilitate risk workshops with staff, designers, and contractors and maintain the risk register.
• Quantify cost and schedule exposure through Monte Carlo or similar simulations and make contingency recommendations.
• Analyze baseline schedules for logic, calendar, and float; verify exposure aligns with risk register.
• Track mitigation actions and ensure timely closure by owners.
• Evaluate change proposals and time impact analyses for program exposure and support negotiations.
• Review risk allocation in procurement and contracts to assign risks appropriately.
• Reconcile risk position with forecasts and changes; report exposure via dashboards and briefs.
• Coordinate risk across third-party interfaces and active facilities.
• Prepare risk and contingency sections for funding submittals and board packages.
• Calibrate models with actual outcomes and benchmarks, improving the risk process.
