Job summary

The City of Birmingham Police Department is seeking a Recruiting and Placement Partner to expand its diverse talent pipeline and build partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce groups to promote employment opportunities.

You will implement effective recruitment strategies, manage postings in HRIS systems, and support a variety of merit-based positions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience identifying and implementing recruitment methods to attract a diverse and qualified applicant pool.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking and/or Management Systems (e.g., WorkDay, ICIMS, PeopleAdmin, UKG, BambooHR, TALEO) to post jobs, screen applications, and process hires.
• Experience collaborating with community groups to establish partnerships.
• Experience maintaining communications with various entities to accomplish recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general administrative duties scheduling, documentation, and correspondence.
• Participates in application, screening, and new hire orientation processes.
• Travels to career events to promote opportunities and connect with candidates.
• Provides service to internal and external customers via in-person, phone, or electronic communication.
• Contacts candidates to extend offers, explain pay and benefits, and discuss conditions.
• Schedules and participates in candidate selection activities.
• Initiates employment process after offer acceptance and completes onboarding.
• Develops recruiting strategy by building relationships with jurisdictions and analyzing labor market data.
• Executes recruitment strategies by promoting opportunities and advertising positions.
• Collaborates with hiring managers to identify target candidates and obtain approvals.
