Job summary

The Personnel Board of Jefferson County is seeking a Recruiting and Placement Partner for the City of Birmingham Police Department to attract and recruit diverse, qualified candidates across roles and levels. The role involves coordinating recruitment strategies, engaging with community partners, and guiding the hiring process within Merit System guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying and implementing a variety of recruitment methods to attract a diverse applicant pool.
• Experience using ATS/management systems to post jobs, screen applications, and initiate hires.
• Experience collaborating with community groups to build partnerships.
• Experience maintaining communications with multiple entities to accomplish recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, document, and correspond using established office procedures.
• Screen applicants and deliver orientation training for new hires.
• Represent the agency at career events and engage with prospective candidates.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve issues for internal and external customers.
• Explain pay rates, benefits, and conditions to extend offers and secure acceptance.
• Coordinate candidate selection activities and ensure fair hiring processes.
• Process employment paperwork in HRIS systems and onboard new hires.
• Develop recruiting strategy by analyzing market data and building partnerships.
• Execute recruitment campaigns using platforms and social media to fill vacancies.
