Job summary

The City of Bessemer Police Department is seeking an experienced Recruiting and Placement Partner to attract, identify, and recruit diverse, qualified candidates for a variety of positions within the organization.

The role develops recruitment strategies, builds relationships with community partners, educational institutions, and workforce agencies, and promotes employment opportunities for the City of Bessemer.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying and implementing recruitment methods to attract a diverse applicant pool.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking and/or Management Systems (e.g., WorkDay, ICIMS, PeopleAdmin, UKG, BambooHR, TALEO) to post jobs, screen applications, and process hires.
• Experience collaborating with community groups (schools, colleges, universities, nonprofits, workforce partners) to build partnerships.
• Experience maintaining communications with various entities to support recruitment activities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general administrative duties such as scheduling and documentation maintenance.
• Screens applicants against minimum qualifications and delivers orientation training for new hires.
• Travels to career events to promote opportunities and engage prospective candidates.
• Responds to inquiries and directs individuals to appropriate resources.
• Extends offers and explains pay, benefits, and conditions to candidates.
• Schedules and participates in candidate selection activities per procedures.
• Initiates employment processes after offers by completing paperwork in HRIS systems.
• Develops recruiting strategy by building relationships and researching labor market trends.
• Executes recruitment strategies by promoting opportunities via platforms, social media, and databases.
• Collaborates with hiring managers to identify targets and obtain approvals for offers.
