Job summary

The City of Birmingham Police Department seeks an experienced Recruiting and Placement Partner to attract, identify, and recruit diverse, qualified candidates across a range of positions. You will develop recruitment strategies, expand applicant pools, and build strong partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions.

Qualifications

• Driver’s license required.
• Experience identifying and implementing a variety of recruitment methods to attract a diverse applicant pool.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking/HRIS systems (e.g., WorkDay, ICIMS, PeopleAdmin, UKG, BambooHR, TALEO) for postings, screening, and personnel actions.
• Experience collaborating with community groups and educational institutions to establish partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Performs administrative duties and scheduling to support departmental operations.
• Participates in application screening and new-hire orientation processes to ensure fair evaluation and onboarding.
• Travels to career events to promote opportunities and speak with prospective candidates.
• Communicates pay rates, benefits, and employment conditions to applicants and extends offers.
• Coordinates candidate selection activities and onboarding procedures with stakeholders.
• Develops recruitment strategy by building relationships, researching labor market data, and sourcing qualified applicants.
• Executes recruitment strategies by creating marketing materials and using recruitment platforms to fill vacancies.
• Works with hiring managers to identify candidates and secure approvals for offers.
