Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a Marketing Manager - Pitches & Proposals to lead or coordinate responses to high-profile RFPs and cross-practice group pitches. You will collaborate with BD managers, partners, and other fee earners to develop compelling, winning proposals. Based in our U.S.

Marketing & Business Development team, this role requires guiding the firm’s responses and driving strategy across regions. A minimum of 5 years in this area is expected, with strong communication and project

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading cross-border pitches in a legal or professional services setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with keen attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to address complex issues.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with partners, clients, and colleagues.
• Strong project management and ability to balance multiple deadlines.
• Team player with capacity to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of global markets and financial trends relevant to the firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage formal proposal responses from start to finish, including planning, content shaping, and delivery timelines.
• Review and refine the firm's proposal processes for efficiency.
• Develop competitive strategies and debrief interview teams.
• Draft reports summarizing activity, success rates, and win/loss themes.
• Support US BD team in shaping messages and training for pitches.
• Collaborate with global pitching teams to implement new programs and processes.
