Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Financial Advisor to support our Transportation and Infrastructure business line. The role partners with Project Managers to drive profitability, forecast accuracy, and financial controls across a portfolio of projects.

The successful candidate will bring 3–5 years of project finance experience in professional services, engineering, construction, or consulting and the ability to influence stakeholders with actionable financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, ACCA, CGA, or equivalent preferred.
• 3-5 years of project accounting, project finance, commercial finance, or related experience, preferably within engineering, construction, environmental, consulting, or professional services organizations.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis.
• Experience supporting medium to large, complex project portfolios.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Experience using Power BI or similar reporting and data visualization tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to support the financial success of projects.
• Provide guidance on project setup, including budgets, work breakdown structures (WBS), billing methods, and rates.
• Review project financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support project forecasting, revenue recognition, and profitability management.
• Analyze labor utilization, project costs, and margins to improve project performance.
• Advise teams on project funding, contract requirements, and financial controls.
