Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Project Financial Advisor to support our Transportation and Infrastructure portfolio. The PFA partners with Project Managers to drive profitability, financial compliance, forecasting accuracy, and overall financial performance across a portfolio of projects.

The successful candidate will bring strong project finance experience from engineering, construction, or consulting, with the ability to influence stakeholders while delivering insightful financial recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• CPA/CMA/ACCA/CGA or equivalent preferred.
• 3-5 years of project accounting/finance experience in engineering, construction, or professional services.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, revenue recognition and profitability analysis.
• Experience supporting medium to large, complex project portfolios.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP system proficiency, with Power BI experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret contract financial terms and assess project financial risk.
• Proven ability to influence and build relationships with project teams and finance partners.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to support financial success of projects.
• Provide guidance on project setup, budgets, WBS, billing methods, and rates.
• Review project financial performance, identify risks and opportunities.
• Support forecasting, revenue recognition, and profitability management.
• Analyze labor utilization, project costs, and margins to improve performance.
• Advise on project funding, contract requirements, and financial controls.
• Review project structures for financial accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor billing requirements and revenue recognition methods.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and delegated authorities.
• Support audit requests and maintain complete financial documentation.
