Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Project Financial Advisor in the United States to partner with project managers, drive profitability, and ensure financial controls across a portfolio of programs.

The role requires strong project finance experience within professional services, engineering, construction, or consulting, with the ability to influence stakeholders and provide actionable financial insights to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Professional accounting/finance designation preferred (CPA/CMA/ACCA/CGA or equivalent).
• 3-5 years in project accounting/finance within engineering, construction, or professional services.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, revenue recognition, profitability.
• Experience with medium to large project portfolios.
• Advanced financial analysis, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Excel proficiency and ERP (Oracle preferred).
• Power BI or similar data visualization experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret contract terms and assess financial risk.
• Proven ability to influence and build relationships with project teams and leaders.
• Strong analytical, communication, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Managers to support financial success of projects.
• Guide project budgeting, WBS setup, billing methods and rates.
• Review financial performance and identify risks/opportunities.
• Support forecasting, revenue recognition, and profitability management.
• Analyze labor utilization, project costs, and margins.
• Advise on project funding, contracts, and financial controls.
• Review structures for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Monitor billing and revenue recognition methods.
• Prepare and review forecasts, budgets, and projections.
• Analyze variance and advise corrective actions.
• Support working capital, revenue accruals, and cash flow.
• Provide financial reporting to project/finance leadership.
• Monitor portfolio performance and participate in reviews.
• Identify trends/risks/opportunities in profitability.
• Escalate significant concerns and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners, Accounting, Procurement, and Operations.
