Job summary

Schnabel Inc. is seeking a Billing Specialist for our Glen Allen, VA office. You will provide project billing support to project managers, maintain contracts and billing documents, and ensure accurate data within the ERP system.

This role reports to the Billing Team Lead and requires in-office work three days per week. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of billing or accounting experience, knowledge of contract types for government projects, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of billing/accounting experience in professional services.
• Knowledge of contract types and billing requirements in government contracting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or in a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts to verify billing terms for T&M, lump sum, and cost plus.
• Maintain contract and billing documents and supporting data.
• Prepare project invoices and pay applications monthly.
• Review invoice quality and coordinate approvals with project managers.
• Use billing reports to reconcile project revenues and sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
• Assist in project setup in VantagePoint and in project closeout.
• Support billing inquiries and adjustments.
