Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Manager for its Global Operations Team to lead pricing strategy and execution across matters and clients. The role focuses on moving beyond time-based billing by developing AI-enabled pricing tools, benchmarking, and cost models aligned with services, while mentoring analysts and educating attorneys in pricing best practices.

The position collaborates with Finance, Client Development, and Legal Project Management to improve profitability and deliver high-value pricing

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of pricing, commercial strategy, or finance in a law firm or professional services.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
• Proven ability to manage pricing requests independently and to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong commercial acumen with a genuine passion for value, not just rates.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, dynamic financial modeling) and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel at an advanced level).
• Self-starter, highly organized and detail-oriented go-getter.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end pricing proposals across AFAs, fixed fees, retainers, and value-based models.
• Manage live pricing requests, RFPs, panel submissions, and fee negotiations.
• Lead or support fee negotiations with clients and partners, backed by economics.
• Build commercial, client-centric pricing strategies that are profitable and sustainable.
• Apply sound commercial judgment to balance client value with firm profitability and assess risk on each proposal.
• Monitor budget-to-actual performance, variances, and report on timekeeper utilization, hours, and rates.
