Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
• Experience administering and maintaining electronic timekeeping systems.
• Proficiency entering and managing data in payroll and administrative databases.
• Ability to reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
• Experience processing weekly payroll for multiple entities.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local income taxes and withholdings.
• Respond professionally to inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience in account balance reviews and GL reconciliation.
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the electronic timekeeping system to ensure accurate capture of employee hours.
• Enter and update employee and payroll data in payroll databases and software.
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports for accuracy.
• Process weekly payroll for multiple companies and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and process manual checks or ACH payments for exceptions.
• Generate, review, and submit certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects.
• Compile and report monthly hours, wages, and payments to unions per agreements.
• Determine payroll liabilities by validating income tax, social security, 401(k), garnishments, etc.
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform balance reviews and reconcile general ledger related to payroll.
• Prepare and post journal entries for payroll activity.
• Collaborate with payroll and accounting teams on project and corporate finances.
• Utilize Excel extensively to analyze payroll data and prepare reports.
