Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Payroll Specialist in St. Louis, MO with a hybrid schedule. The role focuses on accurate payroll processing, data entry, and maintaining confidentiality in a large organization.

You will handle payroll changes, timecard data, and compliance tasks while supporting management and staff with inquiries. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in payroll, experience with payroll software (preferably eCMS), and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience (union)
• Experience using payroll software and systems, preferably eCMS
• High attention to detail and strong mathematical/analytical abilities
• Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Obtain and enter accurate HR and payroll data into the system.
• Analyze and input timecard data into the payroll system.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company and employee data.
• Ensure wages are paid in accordance with agreements.
• Process payroll changes (hires, promotions, terminations, transfers, leaves, garnishments).
• Ensure compliance and strong controls to minimize errors and discrepancies.
• Respond to management and employee inquiries promptly.
• Track and submit reports for prevailing wage compliance.
• Scan and archive payroll documents per policy.
