Job summary

The Baldwin Group is a national firm providing business insurance, employee benefits and risk management with a broad client base. We seek a senior leader to direct placement teams, expand ICP relationships, and oversee enterprise strategies across regions and units.

You will act as escalation contact for complex/large placements, collaborate with sales/advisors, and monitor market conditions to guide pricing and strategy. An established P&C background is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in commercial P&C insurance and ICP experience
• Deep carrier relationships across standard and E&S markets
• Property & Casualty license required; CPCU/CIC/ARM preferred
• Leadership of marketing/placement teams with negotiation and market-trend fluency
• Experience with placement/AMS platforms (Applied, Sagitta) and data-driven submission tools

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of placement leaders and brokers across regions/business units
• Own and expand ICP relationships (admitted and E&S/surplus lines) and negotiate program terms
• Collaborate with national leadership to execute enterprise placement strategy and go-to-market plans
• Serve as escalation point for complex or large-premium placements and support pitches/renewals
• Monitor market conditions and communicate impacts to leadership and advisors
• Drive placement process consistency, tech adoption, and analytics use
• Represent the firm at ICP meetings and market conferences
• Collaborate with analytics/actuarial teams on loss modeling and program structuring
• Support M&A integration of agencies' placement functions
• Ensure documented owners and next steps for all ICP requests
• Use ICP Repository as source of truth for regional decisions
• Maintain records of placement decisions and escalation outcomes
