Job summary

ABB is seeking a proposals engineer in the US to create bids and costed quotations that balance customer requirements and company margins. The role focuses on technical and commercial documentation, pricing, and collaboration with sales teams within the Marine & Ports division.

The position operates in a hybrid work model and supports Navy/Coast Guard segment activities, driving timely, competitive proposals and ensuring compliance with customer needs and internal processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8+ years of experience or Technical Associate's degree with 10+ years in project management, project engineering or proposals.
• Strong electrical systems capability with marine applications.
• Experience reading and responding to US Government (Navy/USCG) RFQs and a proven record of successful submissions.

Responsibilities

• Create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specifications & budget.
• Maintain and improve balance between ABB units and customers in the area of responsibility.
• Prepare technical and commercial documentation with appropriate technology/product type(s) and pricing.
• Collaborate with sales teams and engage with customers when required; ensure timely inputs per bid planning.
