Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Area Director, Business Development to shape market strategies and oversee development of solid waste infrastructure through acquisitions, privatizations, and organic growth. You will coordinate with Area leaders and Corporate functions to drive strategic initiatives and ensure successful transaction executions.

The role requires experience in capital-intensive environments, financial analysis, and leading multi-disciplinary teams, with travel expected to support

Qualifications

• Related environmental industry experience.
• Experience managing a project budget in excess of $5 million.
• Experience managing a project team of professional functional experts.
• Ability to read, interpret, and prepare financial reports.
• Knowledge of reasonableness of operating data and analysis of results.
• Ability to gain respect from internal and external customers while maintaining an independent and objective perspective.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develops and drives market strategies to improve financial performance of markets.
• Facilitates integrated strategic planning within the Area, including coordination with Sales and Revenue Management.
• Coordinates with market operational leaders to ensure execution of action plans for strategic development.
• Responsible for financial and capital investment analysis of business development transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures of non-strategic assets.
• Works with Area President and General Managers to identify and execute business development transactions, due diligence, closing, and integration.
• Evaluates business justification for new solid waste infrastructure projects and leads projects through development cycle.
• Leads and motivates internal and external teams to ensure timely and cost effective completion.
• Oversees real estate transactions and travel 30%+ as needed.
