Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit in Arizona seeks a Long-Term Mine Planning Engineer to develop and maintain the Life-of-Mine plan, optimize pit boundaries, and design pushbacks for multi-decade operations.

You will work with geologists, environmental teams and finance to forecast CAPEX, assess reserves, and run what-if analyses to guide strategic decisions in a demanding, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in open pit mining engineering with 3+ years in mine planning.
• Expert knowledge of mine planning software and optimization concepts.
• Strong financial acumen with NPV modeling and cost-benefit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead Life-of-Mine planning and pit optimization.
• Design pushbacks and cut-off grade strategies for long-term ore access.
• Coordinate Waste Rock Facilities and tailings management planning.
• Model CAPEX and reserve reporting with engineering and geology teams.
• Conduct what-if and sensitivity analyses for strategic guidance.
