Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mine Development Planner to join its Arizona project teams. This role links long-term strategic planning with on-site execution for a pioneering open-pit development.

You’ll lead early-stage site prep, design drainage and haul roads, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee contractors while coordinating with planning and field operations to adapt to field conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining/civil engineering or related field.
• 5-8+ years in large-scale open-pit mining.
• Experience with Deswik/Hexagon and Civil 3D; MSHA/OSHA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee early-stage site preparation and infrastructure sequencing.
• Develop 0-2 year schedules aligned with LOM goals.
• Design diversion and drainage systems for year-round stability.
• Ensure regulatory permits and safety standards compliance.
• Manage earthmoving contractors during early development.
• Translate mine planning into field execution and problem-solve on site.
