Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit is seeking a Senior Mine Planning professional for its Helvetia, AZ operation. The role focuses on detailed mine planning, scheduling, ore control, and team leadership to ensure safe, efficient production in open pit settings.

The candidate will guide short-term plans aligned with lifecycle objectives, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with regulatory and project teams. Strong leadership and safety culture are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering required.
• Post-graduate degree considered a strong asset.
• Minimum 10 years in mine engineering in open pit operations, with 3+ years in a senior supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Own the ore control process and optimize mine plans and stockpiles.
• Lead and develop a team of mine planners and engineers.
• Ensure plans are practical, economical, and compliant with standards.
• Manage the mine planning budget and resource allocation.
• Support Copper World Integrated project and report progress regularly.
• Identify and implement continuous improvements in planning and safety.
