Job summary

Frederick Fox LLC in Charlotte, NC seeks a Legal Billing Manager to oversee the firm's billing operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing while partnering with clients, attorneys, and internal teams.

You will supervise a team of billing specialists, manage the eBilling hub, and drive process improvements, reporting, and controls to support financial performance and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance/business.
• Minimum 5 years of billing experience in a professional services environment with at least 2 years in people management.
• Prior billing management experience in a law firm is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily billing operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing in line with client requirements and deadlines.
• Supervise, train, coach, develop, and evaluate a team of time and billing specialists.
• Review billing activity, identify discrepancies, and ensure invoices are completed and submitted accurately.
• Collaborate with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and staff to resolve billing discrepancies and client account concerns.
• Partner with GC and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines and client policies.
• Manage the firm’s eBilling hub and maintain billing systems with current rates and submission requirements.
• Develop and maintain billing reports, reconciliation procedures, and audit processes.
