Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking a seasoned Billing Manager to lead the firm’s Billing team, guide daily operations, and ensure accurate and timely client invoicing.

You will mentor staff, optimize workflows, collaborate with attorneys and support teams, and implement billing strategies that meet client guidelines. A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of large-team billing leadership, preferably in a law firm, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum five years managing a large team in a high-volume environment.
• Experience in a law firm preferred.
• Experience with eBilling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide billing updates to leadership.
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, or monthly reports.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to policies.
• Develop strategies to optimize workflow.
• Collaborate with attorneys and Legal Support to design invoicing.
• Respond to client inquiries about billing with high service.
• Act as liaison between Legal, Billing and Troutman teams.
• Lead department meetings and mentor direct reports.
• Oversee monthly close cycle.
• Promote professional relationships and performance culture.
