Friedman Williams seeks a Billing Manager in Charlotte to lead the firm’s billing operations in a hybrid work environment. The role oversees a billing team, ensures timely client invoicing, and maintains e-billing platforms and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional services billing experience, strong Excel skills, and a proven track record in process improvements and client service. Law firm familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum five years billing experience within a professional services environment.
• At least two years in managing and developing billing professionals.
• Law firm billing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Elite 3E or a comparable legal billing system is highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of electronic billing platforms (Legal Tracker, CounselLink, TyMetrix 360, Passport, Ascent or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with data analysis and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate client invoicing.
• Lead, mentor, train, and develop a team of billing professionals.
• Partner with attorneys and staff to resolve billing inquiries and issues.
• Ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines and client-specific requirements.
• Oversee e-billing platforms and maintain client instructions and billing rates.
• Collaborate with accounting to ensure proper coding and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and implement efficiencies.
• Provide backup support for key accounting and billing functions.
