Job summary

Jackson Lewis P.C. is seeking a Billing Manager to lead the firm\'s billing operations, oversee a skilled Billing team, and drive improvements in eBilling and collections.

The role focuses on timely, accurate invoicing, KPI tracking, and cross‑department collaboration. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of managerial experience with legal billing, strong communication and Excel skills, and familiarity with Aderant systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant managerial experience required.
• 2+ years of legal billing experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of Aderant and relevant accounting applications is preferred.
• Experience in recommending process improvements.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Fast learner.
• Highly organized.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and intermediate Excel skills such as pivot tables and conditional formatting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the billing process to ensure timely, accurate invoice preparation, review, submission, and tracking.
• Oversee Billing team performance, KPI metrics, and eBilling processes.
• Collaborate with collections and stakeholders to support follow-up, reporting, and escalations.
• Provide guidance to Sr. Manager, Director, and Chief-level roles on billing and eBilling projects.
• Support accounting system upgrades and related tools and workflows (Aderant Expert, Aderant Collections, Bill Blast).
• Develop and train team members on billing/eBilling processes and client guidelines.
• Attend meetings to discuss billing, eBilling oversight, and collection objectives.
• Monitor KPI metrics to ensure monthly goals are met.
• Manage attendance, coverage, and continuity of billing support.
• Run monthly aged pre-bill and other billing/eBilling reports.
• Oversee coaching, performance feedback, and annual reviews for Billing staff.
• Ensure submission readiness and vendor platform coordination for eBilling.
