Job summary

Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, CA is seeking a Benefits Partner – Leave Case Management to manage an assigned caseload of leaves from intake through return-to-work. You will coordinate with HR, Payroll, and healthcare providers, maintain confidential records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, and ERISA.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certificate preferred.
• Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write clear correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and work with U.S. currency for benefits and leave tracking.
• Independent judgment in evaluating eligibility and documentation; escalation when needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an assigned caseload of Team Member leaves of absence from initial inquiry through eligibility, case administration, and return-to-work coordination.
• Review leave requests, evaluate eligibility under policy and laws, and issue determinations.
• Administer continuous, intermittent, and reduced-schedule leaves, including tracking usage and extensions.
• Complete disability forms and related documentation; coordinate with carriers and healthcare providers while protecting confidential information.
• Maintain regular follow-up and move cases toward timely resolution.
• Coordinate with Payroll, HR Business Partners, and department leadership on leave-related matters.
• Maintain accurate case notes and electronic records.
• Resolve routine and moderately complex issues; escalate complex matters to Senior Benefits Partner or HR leadership.
• Determine benefit eligibility and assist enrollment in health and retirement plans.
• Serve as liaison between Team Members, carriers, and vendors to resolve inquiries.
• Administer and respond to Child Support Orders.
• Navigate Team Member Self Service (TMSS) for benefits-related transactions.
• Maintain Benefits & Wellness website and promote awareness of programs.
• Stay informed on HIPAA, COBRA, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, Section 125, and related provisions.
• Participate in committees and process-improvement projects.
• Promote open communication and confidentiality in leave and benefits matters.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
