Job summary

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) is seeking an Associate Labor Relations Analyst to coordinate grievance review, assist in hearings, and act as liaison between labor relations and the agency. The role involves working with unions, preparing monthly reports, and advising management on labor issues.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business/public administration, economics, labor/industrial relations or related field with one year professional labor research experience; or
• Bachelor's degree with three years of related professional experience; or education/experience equivalent to the above with baccalaureate degree required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate agency grievance review and disciplinary appeals, assist in case prep for hearings.
• Participate in Labor Management meetings and liaison between NYC Office of Labor Relations and the agency.
• Maintain liaison with union representatives and coordinate labor-management meetings.
• Prepare and update the Monthly Labor Relations Report.
• Serve as a resource for employee training programs in labor relations.
• Advise management on proper handling of general labor problems and contract obligations.
