Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking an IT Strategic Communications Manager to support the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR) ITS program at Joint Base Andrews, MD, and the Pentagon. The role focuses on developing strategic comms plans, coordinating messaging across bases, and advising senior leadership on information strategies.

The ideal candidate has military/government experience, a DoD Secret clearance, and a proven track record in executive briefings, newsletters, and NOTAMs to align IT services

Qualifications

• BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; additional years may be used in lieu of degree.
• Military or Government Experience – Familiarity with defense communication strategies, operational security, and public affairs.
• Strategic Thinking – develop and execute long-term communication plans aligned with military objectives.
• Digital and Social Media Proficiency – knowledge of online communication platforms and cybersecurity considerations.
• Leadership and Collaboration – coordinate messaging across departments and work with senior officials.
• Must have a full DoD Secret Clearance at start.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strategic communications plan for 844 CG within the AFNCR/AFDW goals.
• Coordinate messaging across squadrons, bases, and departments for consistency.
• Advise leadership on communication best practices and strategic messaging.
• Align IT communications with DoD information technology goals.
• Train personnel on effective communication techniques.
• Establish on-site presence with Base Communications Squadrons and engage leadership.
• Develop executive tours, mission briefs, and flyers for distinguished visitors.
• Assist UX Manager with UX strategic initiatives and projects.
• Ensure communications support the customer experience and goals.
• Develop a newsletter to increase visibility of IT services in AFNCR.
• Create NOTAMs to inform Airmen about IT service interruptions/changes.
• Produce flyers/ads for IT services projects.
• Respond to short-notice information requests as part of the OFT.
• Provide strategic counsel to the commander on high-visibility IT operations.
• Deliver synthesized data-driven briefings and executive summaries for leadership.
• Coordinate intelligence/operational exchange with partner units and mission partners.
• Translate IT performance data into actionable options for senior leaders.
• Promote QoS and IT modernization initiatives with cyber, acquisition, and infrastructure authorities.
