Job summary

JCS Solutions seeks a Strategic Communications Manager to support the AFNCR ITS program across Andrews AFB and other DC area bases. The role focuses on developing and maintaining communications strategies, improving customer experience, and aligning messaging with Air Force priorities.

The candidate will partner with leadership and squadrons to ensure consistent internal and external communications, while mentoring teams and delivering strategic UX initiatives. DoD clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 8–12 years of relevant experience.
• Background in military or government organizations is required.
• Experience developing long-term strategic communication plans aligned to organizational objectives.
• Knowledge of digital communication platforms and cybersecurity considerations.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Active DoD Secret clearance prior to start date; DoD 8140 qualification or Cyber 101 is acceptable for onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strategic communications plan supporting AFNCR objectives.
• Develop and implement communication strategies aligned to program goals.
• Coordinate messaging across squadrons, bases, and departments for consistency.
• Advise leadership on communications best practices and stakeholder engagement.
• Support alignment with DoD IT priorities through integrated communications initiatives.
• Train personnel on effective communication techniques and best practices.
• Engage with on-site Base Communications Squadrons to strengthen partnerships.
• Assist UX Manager with strategic UX initiatives and projects.
• Develop newsletters to raise awareness of ITS across AFNCR.
• Create NOTAMs and other communications materials for service updates.
• Produce flyers and campaigns to support IT service changes.
• Drive continuous process improvement in AFNCR ITS communications.
