Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a General Manager in California to oversee the association’s operations in line with governing documents, policies, and regulations. You will manage staff and vendors, ensure maintenance of building systems, and prepare budgets and financial reports for the Board.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting experience, and a thorough understanding of HOA rules and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in public administration or business.
• CCAM/CMCA/PCAM designation preferred.
• Minimum three years of high-profile community management experience.
• Strong leadership and budgeting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand governing documents (CCRs, By-Laws) and ensure compliance.
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise building staff; develop staffing plans and budgets.
• Promote service standards and coach staff accordingly.
• Inspect facilities and coordinate maintenance and safety programs.
• Prepare annual budgets and present financial reports to the Board.
• Attend Board and committee meetings and prepare minutes.
• Manage vendor contracts and ensure adherence to service agreements.
• Coordinate with legal counsel on litigation updates.
