Job summary

Seabreeze Management Company, Inc. in California seeks a General Manager to oversee a homeowner association portfolio and lead the office operations.

You will supervise staff, coordinate budgets, and manage contracts and vendors in alignment with the Board and management company goals. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and financial oversight, with effective communication to residents, vendors, and legal counsel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of community association and/or property management experience.
• 5 years of supervisory experience; effective in motivating and building strong teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee office staff, vendors, and suppliers to attain Association goals.
• Draft correspondence in response to Board policies and other HOA related matters.
• Direct and organize all office operations and schedules for staff.
• Ensure insurance coverage is adequate and review as necessary.
• Establish relationships with the Association’s general counsel and Board.
• Review and approve employee timesheets and maintain personnel files.
• Assist with annual operating and reserve budgets with the Board and Finance Committee.
• Monitor budget accounts and identify variances and seasonal changes.
• Prepare and maintain a vetted vendor list for key trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and more.
• Draft RFP specifications and support Board-approved bid processes.
• Review and monitor open RFP requirements and coordinate with counsel.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize financial resources and expenditures.
• Work with the Maintenance Committee to assess property condition and coordinate improvements.
