Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Manager – Business Development in Reston, VA to lead research, identify opportunities, and develop plans to expand revenue and product lines. You will analyze growth, strengthen Wesco's competitive position, and drive cross-functional initiatives with suppliers and customers.

You will retain existing relationships, explore new markets, and lead negotiations for partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred.
• 5–6+ years of financial analysis, sales, and negotiation experience.
• Ability to identify and develop relationships with key decision makers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 50%–75%.
• Knowledge of industry including suppliers, customers, and competitors.
• Ability to learn complex technical information quickly.
• Capable of spotting new business opportunities and evaluating them.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities to increase profitability.
• Retain and expand relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Oversee research to identify new markets and opportunities and increase market share.
• Establish relationships with potential customers and arrange meetings with Wesco representatives.
• Calls on existing or prospective customers within the business development program.
• Represent Wesco in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and start-ups.
• Conduct rollout meetings at key account locations.
• Lead local implementation teams (LIT).
• Find, calculate, and document cost savings related to spend and value-add services programs.
• Create account business development activities including gap identification and One-Wesco engagement.
• Train internal and customer teams on processes.
